The new property development known as “Rippleside Quay” consisting of 180 luxury townhouses, apartments and penthouses is located on the Geelong waterfront. This luxury development already had a very good looking and functional website but the client wanted to add a Flash design introduction page, which would show off the development in a dynamic and active way, aiming to capture the users’ attention and imagination from the get go.
We created the current Flash introduction on the site which was a raging success with both the client and users, both commenting on how professional and sleek the animation looks. The client liked the introduction so much, it was used almost ‘as is’ for a TV commercial that aired throughout Victoria for the development, the only difference was the addition of a voice over for the commercial.
As with any Flash introduction or splash page, it was important to include HTML/CSS elements such as the navigation, for both search engines and users on devices not supporting flash to be able to navigate and index the website easily. Also, it was important that this page was designed in such a way that it would achieve good search engine rankings and not in any way be hindered in Google by the Flash effect.
